Hi, my name is John and I'm a graphic design major at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (USAO) in Chickasha Oklahoma. I grew up in Moore and I've lived here in Oklahoma all of my life with much of my family living nearby. Makes it hard to get away from my relatives sometimes but I still love 'em. If I could live anywhere else it would have to be a place where it snows quite often during the winter. Oklahoma isn't the best place for snow and I love watching it quietly fall until everything is white and pristine, and then..... let the snowballs fly!!!

I have a goofy personality and love to make references to movies and T.V. shows and thus, I'm a bit of a nerd/geek. I enjoy playing video games, seeing and making fun of a bad movie with my friends, and relaxing outside with a book or just watching the world go by. I'm a big Star Trek and Star Wars fan. I pretty much grew up watching the movies and shows with my parents who both love the franchises, though one is more into Star Trek and the other likes Star Wars more (I think).

I've loved to draw since I was a little kid and always wanted to use my skills in art as a career. I'm really glad that I have the opportunity to attend a great arts college and study all of these different techniques that will help me become a better artist. Learning about silkscreen printing last semester was one of my favorite classes so far, it's a lot of work but so much fun and definitely something I'd be interested in earning a living with it.

I love music both listening and creating my own, as well as drawing and writing and a bunch of stuff. I'm also a bit of a club rat. I love going out even if its by myself, i just like the atmosphere. I recently graduated with a bachelors in Interdisciplinary Perspectives on the Environment, which includes ecology, zoology, geology and botany...ology. I want to become a professional tree-hugger. I relate very well to animals. Before college ate all my free time,I used to train horses (though I've never been able to afford my own) and volunteer as a wildlife rehabilitator. My hobbies include geeky things like reading, RPGs (pencil and paper), and medieval re enactment. I also own one cat and two mixed breed dogs.

Personailty- wise, I'm compassionate, easy - going, incredibly dorky, and fiercely loyal. I'm stubborn, scatterbrained, and while some call me intelligent I don't always feel that way.

But the adjective most often applied to me is "cute". Sometimes I get pretty goddamn tired of being "cute".

I have a small circle of close personal friends whom I love and adore. I appreciate honesty, idealism, and open- mindedness.

You know what screw it. I find completely it impossilbe to write anything in this area that isn't going to be completely contrived. I'm not going to be brutally honest because that would probably land me in an institution or on the FBI's hotlist. I like music, rain, fall, jeans, the color red, Italian food, considerate people. I'm learning abot religion. I find it fascinating. I believe in God, I'm just not sure about everything else. I want to learn a lot more. I like Andrew Wyeth and Edward Hopper a lot. I would like to write a novel some day. I hate shopping. I don't mind work on most days, but I'm not that devoted to it. I definately have a life away from it.

My music collection is what most would consider enormous--most genres, especially big band jazz, goa, and video game remixes, but I've got everything.

I procrastinate when I shouldn't, then make up for it by working really hard at the last minute; more often than not, I am rewarded for my behavior. Go figure.

I am originally from southern California (back before the OC was cool), spent 2 years working in Washington DC, have a PhD from The Ohio State University, and now live in Norman and work at OU.

I enjoy going out to movies or to hear bands (either at concerts or in bars -- I love jazz bars, especially if there's a pianist or quartet). I also like drinking Guinness in dive bars (preferably not by myself). However, I also enjoy staying home and watching tv, DVDs, or just reading (especially if it's raining).

I'm extremely sarcastic, so if you aren't able to handle it (and dish it out just as well), then you probably should look elsewhere. I also tend to be a contrarian, which means I'll argue with you even when I know you're right, just because.

I'm also fairly pessimistic, although I'm still a hopeless romantic, so I still possess bits of optimism that haven't been crushed yet by life.

Basically, I am over-educated and under-employed. (Don't worry; I can afford it!) I have a bachelor's degree in journalism and a master's of human relations from OU, and a master of divinity degree from Phillips Theological Seminary. I have two kids: David, born 10-93, and Donna, born 12-95. Even though they live with their dad most of the time, three miles away, they keep me very busy! I am a liberal Christian, a member of First Christian Church of Norman (Disciples of Christ), and hope to be ordained next year. (Then my kids can call me Reverend Mom!) I don't have much family outside my kids, but I have a lot of friends.

Lets see... I'm a homebody, a little by choice and some not by choice. I have a close circle of friends who all have significant others and therefore we don't go out much. Makes it kinda hard to meet other singles as well. So just checking this out to see who's out there.
